Lunch and a Movie: Harriet (2019)

Lunch and a Movie: Harriet (2019) In-Person

Bring your lunch (beverages provided) and celebrate Black History Month with two great films that document crucial moments in the fight for equality. This biopic tells the story of Harriet Tubman (Cynthia Erivo), who escaped from slavery in 1849. Despite reaching safety in Philadelphia, Harriet is determined to see more of her people free, and treks back down South time and again to free more slaves, becoming a legend among her people. When the son of her former masters swears a vendetta against her, Harriet and her cause are in mortal danger...but she will not be swayed from her course. No signups required. (Please be warned--due to this film's historical context, some characters use racial slurs.)
