Lunch and a Movie: A Haunting in Venice (2023) In-Person
Bring your lunch (beverages provided) and enjoy two different interpretations of Agatha Christie's great detective Hercule Poirot! This latest entry in Sir Kenneth Branagh’s Poirot movies (loosely based on Dame Agatha’s novel Halloween Party) finds a post-WWII Poirot in retirement in Venice. His old friend, writer Ariadne Oliver (Tina Fey), convinces him to attend a séance held by psychic Joyce Reynolds (Michelle Yeoh) in a supposedly haunted palazzo. Poirot, skeptical at first, is rattled by Joyce’s channeling of a guest’s dead daughter...and by Joyce’s own murder immediately afterwards. As is par for the course, most of the guests have possible motives...and the ever-rational Poirot may have to face the possibility that the supernatural may be involved. No signups required.
