TEEN Maker Day

TEEN Maker Day In-Person

TEENS AGES 12-18 (grades 7-12) are invited to come participate in our TEEN Maker Day!

A Makerspace is a community-based workspace where teens can come to create, experiment, and learn, using a variety of tools, materials, and technologies, both high and low-tech.  Makerspaces encourage creative and hands-on making that can be done collaboratively or in solo "free play."

For our Teen Maker Day, you are welcome to come at any time during the program and stay for as long or as little during the allotted time as you'd like!  Create 1 thing or many things!  A range of resources and craft materials will be provided, which may include:

  • Digital/Technology Tools:
    • Laptops equipped with Scratch (a high-level, block-based visual coding programming language and website aimed primarily for ages 8 to 16)
    • Cricut Precision Cutting and Crafting Machine
    • Mini Photo Printer (photo sheets are 2x3 in. with a sticky-back peel option)
    • Stop Motion Animation Kit
  • Traditional Craft Materials: Various crafting materials are available while supplies last and can be used to create whatever you want, possibly including but not limited to:
    • Memory Boards
    • Jewelry Making
    • Diamond Art
    • Yarn/String Art
    • 3D Art
    • Woven Bookmarks
    • Wood Craft Materials
    • Phone Charm Making
    • Stickers
    • Origami
    • Buttons, Beads, PomPoms, Popsicle Sticks, Felt, Construction Paper, Clay, etc.
  • STEM Crafts and Robotics:
    • Coding & Drawing Robot
    • STEM Kits
    • Electronic Kits
