Lunch and a Movie: Psycho II (1983)

Lunch and a Movie: Psycho II (1983) In-Person

Bring your lunch (beverages provided) to the Monroe Township Library to celebrate the sixtieth anniversary of Alfred Hitchcock’s masterpiece Psycho! This first of several sequels to Hitchcock’s classic was directed by Richard Franklin, a friend and protege of the Master of Suspense. After twenty-two years, Norman Bates (Anthony Perkins) has been deemed fit to release from the mental hospital...much to the displeasure of Lila Loomis (Vera Miles), sister of the murdered Marion Crane and widow of the man Marion had loved. Norman returns to manage the Bates Motel, turning out the sleazy man who’d been running it in the meanwhile, and tries to reintegrate into society. He befriends Mary Samuels (Meg Tilly), a waitress at the local diner. But when Norman begins to receive phone calls and notes that appear to be from “Mother”, and when a mysterious figure in black starts murdering people who’ve crossed Norman, he must confront the frightening question: is he losing his mind all over again? Is someone else behind these actions? Or...has Mother somehow returned? (Warning: this film is rated R for some strong language, violence, and some brief female nudity.) No signups required.
