Lunch and a Movie: The Phantom of the Paradise (1974)

Lunch and a Movie: The Phantom of the Paradise (1974) In-Person

Bring your lunch (beverages provided) and celebrate the 100th anniversary of Lon Chaney's classic version of The Phantom of the Opera by enjoying three different takes on the story!

“He sold his soul for rock n’ roll...” Before Andrew Lloyd Webber’s musical took the world by storm, there was this cult-favorite rock musical spin on the Phantom story. Would-be composer Winslow Leach (William Finley) is eager to sell his rock cantata version of Faust to powerful music producer Swan (Paul Williams, who also wrote the score). But Swan double-crosses Winslow, stealing his music and getting him sent to prison while also seducing young singer Phoenix (Jessica Harper), whom Winslow has fallen for. Escaping from prison, Winslow is disfigured by a record press and stalks Swan’s new rock palace the Paradise in a mask. Swan is able to persuade him to finish his work and sign a contract with him...but there’s more to the contract than Winslow realizes, as he finds out the shocking truth about Swan himself... No signups required. Popcorn generously donated by Regal Cinemas.
