Whodunits Book Club: The Phantom of the Opera In-Person

Adults of all ages are invited to the Monroe Township Library to discuss Gaston Leroux’s classic 1909 novel which combines elements of mystery, gothic horror, and romance. Young aspiring singer Christine Daae believes her mysterious hidden music master is the “Angel of Music”, sent by her deceased father. But she discovers that her Angel and the mysterious Phantom of the Opera haunting the theater are one and the same--a deformed composer and musician named Erik. Confronting Christine in his underground lair, he declares his love for her--and intent to kill anyone who stands in his way. With Christine’s childhood friend and suitor, Raoul de Chagny, vowing to protect her at all costs, Erik’s jealousy and madness may threaten the Opera and everyone in it...
