Lunch and a Movie: Scrooge (1970) In-Person
Bring your lunch (beverages provided) and enjoy a couple of great holiday movies at the Library! First up is this delightful musical adaptation of Charles Dickens' classic A Christmas Carol, which stars Albert Finney in the title role. (Finney was only thirty-four when it was filmed, relying on his talent and very convincing age makeup to play the older Scrooge for most of the movie.) The familiar story of miser Ebenezer Scrooge, visited by the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present, and Future, gets a boost with songs from Leslie Bricusse (Willy Wonka And The Chocolate Factory). The score was nominated for an Oscar, as was the song "Thank You Very Much." No signups required. Popcorn generously donated by Regal Cinemas.
